Allie and Robert wanted an intimate wedding at El Pinto Restaurant & Cantina in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since all of their closest family and friends were traveling to Albuquerque from all over to celebrate with them, they wanted to give them a real New Mexican experience. El Pinto was the perfect place!
El Pinto Restaurant
El Pinto Restaurant is an iconic spot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for its New Mexican food and its historic and charming atmosphere. As you enter through red chile ristras hanging from the awning outside you pass through their hall of fame plastered with pictures of all the notable people who have dined there. The restaurant itself is expansive with multiple indoor and outdoor patio areas that all feel very cozy and very southwest. It is one of the top places I recommend anyone go when they are visiting the Land of Enchantment. I’ve gone to a number of rehearsal dinners and other events there and it’s always the perfect experience. And now with their new event space at the back of the restaurant, you can even host your wedding there. I give it a 10/10 for the vibes, the food, and the service.

Getting Ready
Allie chose to book an Airbnb in the North Valley of Albuquerque near El Pinto. They used the house as a home base for their family in the days surrounding the wedding. It was where Allie could take time getting ready with her wedding party before the ceremony, and it was where Allie and Robert could spend their wedding night. I loved the classic New Mexican architecture of the house, and it complemented the architecture of El Pinto itself beautifully.

Ceremony
The wedding ceremony site at El Pinto feels especially private and intimate, as it is tucked under a roof of large vigas (or wood beams particular to adobe homes you’d find in New Mexico) and you are absolutely surrounded by a canopy of trees. It is a sweet little desert oasis.

Reception
Directly after the ceremony and photos with all attending family and friends, Allie and Robert made it to the reception space for dinner and dancing. I love how the reception space reflects a New Mexico look while being still surrounded by the green trees. It has charm and personality, and plenty of space for an even bigger wedding celebration than you see here. The small wedding details Allie included, like the flowers and small birds in all the centerpieces, seemed to fit the vibes perfectly.
And, of course, you can’t forget that with a wedding at El Pinto, you’re bound to impress your guests with the delicious FOOD.

Wedding Portraits
We wandered among the trees, through the gardens, in front of the iconic El Pinto signage and hanging ristras. As a bonus for the couple who chose coral, orange, and red tones for their wedding colors, the firethorn pyracantha shrubs were sporting their bright orange berries for the season. The perfect backdrop for photos with family and friends on their September 21 wedding.
All the nooks and crannies, the historic New Mexican architecture, and the lush plant life make for the perfect setting for beautiful wedding photos at El Pinto Restaurant.

I can’t wait for my next wedding here!
