Fall Old Town Farm Wedding in Albuquerque

fall wedding ceremony at Old Town Farm in Albuquerque

Old Town Farm is one of my favorite wedding venues in Albuquerque. Not only do I have a personal history with the place, having ridden horses there back when it was a boarding stable, but it’s one of those farms that feels so iconic it could be in a movie. A long driveway lined with trees and pastures takes you to the view of a red barn surrounded by more pastures, trees, and gardens. At the front of the property is a lovely courtyard enclosed by an old wooden fence and towering cottonwood trees. Behind it is the giant red barn, which used to host horses, and now hosts wedding receptions. Inside is warm and cozy and plenty of space for dining and dancing. They have a casita for the wedding party to get ready, and ample places around the property for the perfect farm wedding photos. They also have a coffee shop, Bike-In Coffee, which is closed during weddings but open most mornings for anyone to come enjoy the historic property with a cup of coffee.

Erika and Todd planned the most quintessential fall Old Town Farm wedding in Albuquerque. The cottonwood trees were bright yellow, there were yellow leaves scattered all over the ground after a rain storm, and the sun cut through the chill in the air. I can’t wait to share these photos!

Getting Ready at the Casita

Before the ceremony, the wedding couple got ready at the casita at Old Town Farm. Erika had her hair and makeup done as she peeked out the window at the surrounding trees.

Fall Wedding Details at Old Town Farm

With a rain storm hitting the night before the wedding day, all of Old Town Farm was littered with yellow leaves from the cottonwood trees. They made for the most perfect, natural detail, especially among the lanterns that lined the aisle for the ceremony. The couple also had fuzzy blankets and gloves for their guests, should they get cold during their outdoor wedding ceremony in the courtyard. You never know with a fall day in New Mexico! But even though the day before was a cold one, the wedding day was beautifully sunny.

Fall Wedding Ceremony Under Cottonwoods

My favorite part of the outdoor ceremony space at the Old Town Farm wedding venue is that you can see so much of the farm behind the couple standing at the altar. Behind all the mature cottonwood trees you can see the red barn, another white barn, the pastures, the gardens, and the coffee shop. It feels intimate, being tucked there between the big trees and the house where the owners of the farm still live. And yet it is still open to the view of the farm.

Erika and Todd stood at the altar lit up in the golden sunshine. I loved how it shone through the trees and made everything sparkle – especially the bubbles everyone blew as the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together.

Wedding Portraits at Old Town Farm

There is no shortage of beautiful locations for wedding portraits at Old Town Farm. We liked wandering up the driveways lined by old cottonwood trees, leaves strewn all about the ground. We found the brightest yellow trees next to the old wooden fencing for a true fall farm wedding look. The little bridge near the courtyard ceremony spot is another iconic look, not to mention in front of the red barn doors and the old green truck with the Old Town Farm logo.

Reception Inside the Barn

After the beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony and all the photos around the farm we could manage as the sun began to set, everyone made their way inside the red barn for the indoor wedding reception. The space was lit up with twinkle lights and lanterns. It is such a lovely, rustic barn wedding venue. Everyone danced their boots off for the rest of the evening.
