This Taos wedding venue, El Monte Sagrado, is one of the most stunning wedding venues New Mexico has to offer. The grounds are perfectly kept, with plant life everywhere for a vibrantly green wedding celebration. Meaning “The Sacred Mountain,” El Monte Sagrado Taos prides itself on being a tranquil and lush resort to escape to.
For a couple like Mia and Lee, who wanted a whimsical wedding in an enchanted forest, there was no place more fitting. Mia grew up going to El Monte Sagrado Taos with her artist mother, and always felt drawn to its enormous trees with their twisted branches. She dreamed of one day getting married under those trees, to someone kind, brilliant, and “nerdy.” Lee is her perfect match.

The Vibes + Details
From the beginning, Mia knew she wanted a fairy-themed wedding. Both she and Lee are big fans of Lord of the Rings and Celtic mythology. So she decorated herself like an elegant elf with sparkles in her hair, a silver floral headband, delicate earrings all over her ears, and a necklace with Arwen’s Evenstar pendant. Her dress had lovely soft pink lace details with a flowing train. She was a true fairy princess bride.
The flowers by Ultra Violet Floristry were bright and colorful wildflowers, and the cake by Cake Fetish was adorned with similar pressed real flowers. Their bright colors stood in beautiful contrast with the greenery of the trees and grass at El Monte Sagrado.

Getting Ready Suite at El Monte Sagrado Taos
The bridal getting ready suite at El Monte Sagrado has the most lovely architectural touches, and is in the perfect place to get around to all the wedding spots nearby. I love the light on Mia’s face, and the way the colors and doorways frame everyone so beautifully.

Ceremony in The Sacred Circle at El Monte Sagrado
The El Monte Sagrado Taos wedding ceremony space is lush and green. The couple makes their vows beneath the giant cottonwood trees and in front of the mature weeping willows, the flowing river and waterfall. They call it The Sacred Circle, honoring the meaning its location holds to the local Native American population.
Mia and Lee played Lord of the Rings for their ceremony music and made poetic vows to one another over a geode oath stone.

We took every chance we could to get photos with the lush landscape at El Monte Sagrado. The weeping willow tree, the bridge crossing over the river by the waterfall, the aspen trees, and the garden flowers.

Rio Grande Ballroom Reception
Following the ceremony and as much time as possible enjoying the lush landscape outside, everyone moved inside to the Rio Grande Ballroom for the wedding reception at El Monte Sagrado Taos. What an elegant ballroom! It feels fit for royalty with its intricate chandeliers, high ceilings, carved wooden columns, and the many French doors leading to the patio outside. The space can fit up to 400 guests, giving Mia and Lee’s celebration plenty of room to dance and mingle.

Mia and Lee’s wedding day at El Monte Sagrado Taos was full of color and wonder and love and I’m personally obsessed with their personal magic. I can’t wait for the next excuse to return to this stunning Taos wedding venue.
