Brynn and Chase traveled from Texas to northern New Mexico to join their families together in marriage. It was a second wedding for each, so the focus was on bringing their blended families together, honoring not only their vows to each other but to each of the three boys they’re now raising together. They rented a large vacation rental home, just enough space to house each of their sets of parents and children, and planned the loveliest, most personal intimate wedding in Taos, New Mexico.
Boho Southwest Wedding Details
As a former wedding planner herself, Brynn certainly had an eye for the details. She had the picture-perfect southwest boho bride aesthetic: a gorgeous slim-fitted lace wedding dress with embroidered white cowgirl boots and a brimmed hat; the florals by Florecita were a mix of classic roses with lupine and lavender in a pastel-colored palette. For his part, Chase had a pair of leather boots and matching belt to go with his classic navy blue suit.
On each table setting was a shard of terra cotta pottery acting as a place card. The dishware itself was a mix of simple, earthy, and modern with vintage accents. Everything suited the adobe house setting in the mountain foothills of Taos, New Mexico, just beautifully.
Backyard Taos Wedding Ceremony
The thing I love most about intimate wedding ceremonies like this one is that they tend to be immensely personal. Brynn and Chase wrote vows for each other and for each of their sons in their now blended family. They had each boy participate as well by reading his own prepared notes. It was short and sweet, just the two of them with Brynn’s dad officiating, standing in front of an arch bearing more Florecita floral beauty and the backdrop of the surrounding Taos mountains.
Taos Wedding Couple’s Portraits
Of course, taking the newlywed couple’s portraits is my favorite part of every wedding day, but Brynn and Chase made it exceptionally lovely. They are a stylish, beautiful couple who is up for anything, and we had the surrounding field and mountains to play around in as we headed toward sunset. What more could a photographer ask for?!
The Intimate Wedding Celebration
Following the ceremony, the intimate group of family gathered to celebrate Brynn and Chase got some refreshments and headed to the set dinner tables. Everything was catered by Walter Burke Catering, from the food to the drinks to the honey lavender cake topped with real honeycomb. They made toasts throughout the evening, the boys and their cousins sang and ran around, and as the sky grew dark Brynn and Chase had a ceremonial first dance there on the porch.
Weddings like this fill my cup in such a meaningful way. Thank you to Brynn and Chase and all your loved ones for trusting me to capture this beautiful intimate wedding in Taos, New Mexico, and for welcoming me into your space like family. It was such a privilege!
