“This is the best day ever. I don’t want it to ever end.” Amy repeated these words multiple times throughout the evening as she and Charlie celebrated their beautiful Colorado wedding at Guyton Ranch. Despite a tumultuous few months of wedding planning amid a pandemic, Amy and Charlie were able to see their dream day come to life. Family and friends traveled out to the mountains to celebrate the happy couple and get a little escape from reality. It is always special to see families reunite for wedding celebrations. But when that opportunity is even more rare given the current state of the world – I can’t describe how extra joyful it all was.
We started the day at Guyton Ranch, where everyone was getting ready. I loved this space so much – rustic ranch vibes with big windows to let in all the best natural light. After Amy got in her wedding dress and the last boutonniere got pinned, I headed out with the entire wedding party to the nearby Kenosha Pass for some epic portraits. We took photos in a forest of aspen trees, then headed to a field with views of the mountain pass. This part of the day was so fun!
To any current brides planning their own scenic weddings in the mountains: If you have the time to budget an excursion to an awesome nearby location like this on your wedding day, I highly recommend you take advantage of it! The area we went to was a mere 15-minute drive from the venue, and totally worth it.
After we got back from taking photos in Kenosha Pass, it was ceremony time. Guyton Ranch has the most beautiful ceremony site in a field surrounded by a panorama of mountains. The clouds that blew over as Amy and Charlie said their vows were beautiful, dark and dramatic, but there wasn’t a single rain drop. That’s actually my favorite kind of weather. ;)
And let’s not forget to mention the GORGEOUS sunset we got later on. As the evening made its way into golden hour, I grabbed Amy and Charlie for some more photos out in that field. The photos of them surrounded by mountains and dreamy golden light are some of my favorites I’ve ever taken. What a dream come true, indeed.
Most importantly, the happy couple enjoyed the rest of the night kicking up dust on the outdoor dance floor with all their friends. These two have been together so long it was as if everyone there was breathing that relieved sigh of finally. Simply enjoying the day with their people was their top priority, so watching that unfold was a true privilege.
