As lovers of nature and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Ashleigh and Jose wanted their engagement pictures taken in the mountains. We ventured into the Snoqualmie Pass to wander around Gold Creek Pond during the summer season. It feels like a whole other world there: the hills dotted with wildflowers, the stark mountains surrounding the water and still beholding snowcaps, and the grass growing free and lush. The variety of colors alone is enough to make this photographer giddy. I found the Sound of Music somehow playing in my head.
This is why adventure sessions like this are my favorite kinds of engagement sessions. We took our time adventuring around the area, chatting as we walked from one beautiful spot to another. I learned all about their plans for an epic fall-themed wedding. We got to really settle in with each other and just enjoy such a beautiful afternoon.
Ashleigh and Jose are one of those couples that have been together so long their friends pretty much thought of them as married a long time ago. They met in North Carolina while Jose was serving in the military, then moved to Washington where Ashleigh is from. They got engaged in Hawaii and began a tradition of exchanging vows in each new, beautiful place they explored together. No witnesses necessary, aside from each other. Their actual wedding is a long time coming. These two have been committed since day one. Their love for each other is so inspiring! You can feel their joy in one another emanating off them in each and every image throughout their whole session. I can only imagine what their wedding day will be like. I can’t wait!
