Adrienne and Diego met on Craigslist. No really, it’s true!
It all started with a classified ad for a snowboard. (And if that’s not a true Colorado love story, I don’t know what is!) Upon discovering they both were New Mexico transplants now living in Colorado, they struck up a friendship that lasted through the end of Adrienne’s relationship at the time. They had a lot in common. Both are incredible athletes with enviable muscles and stamina. Both are health nuts. And both ended up in careers that focus on healing people. Adrienne is a pediatric nurse, while Diego is a sports recovery specialist. They are totally, 100% #couplegoals
The other special thing about these two is that we have been friends forever. Adrienne happens to be one of my best friends from high school. While I already got to capture their epic surprise proposal in Winter Park earlier this year, it was so fun to be able to get together again for their engagement pictures here in Colorado Springs.
Since Adrienne and Diego’s wedding is taking place in their home state of New Mexico, it seemed only fitting for their engagement pictures that we pay homage to the place they’ve built their lives together. We started off driving around the Gold Camp Road loop, making some pit stops at Helen Hunt Falls and all the beautiful mountain overlooks. I absolutely love shooting along Gold Camp Road because you get so many beautiful viewpoints right off the road, and you really get the sense of being smack dab in the middle of North Cheyenne Canyon. Then, we went to a couple of my favorite locations at Garden of the Gods for sunset. A typical Colorado spring storm started blowing in as we were shooting, and made for the most dramatic skies. It was literally perfect, and we had so much fun.
Snowy mountain peaks, red rocks, and stormy skies—you can’t get much more Colorado than that!
