Angela and Drew have basically grown up together. They met when they were fifteen, and the rest is basically history. Before long, they were already each other’s family. At some point while the girls were getting ready, it dawned on them that now Drew’s sister would officially become Angela’s sister too. They were becoming a real family. Things got a little emotional after that.
The wedding itself was of course gorgeous. Crooked Willow Farms is a stunning wedding venue, with gorgeous mountain views and so many sweet and romantic little spots for a couple to steal away to for photos. Angela and Drew stuck to earthy tones and minimal decor to let the Colorado landscape shine and speak to everyone present. Their colors were sage green and navy with accents of white, beige, and champagne, and their flowers consisted of garden roses, succulents, baby’s breath, and eucalyptus. Aside from the flowers, they had simple elements of wood décor. It was such a sweet and peaceful combination.
That’s not even to mention Angela’s wedding dress, which is perhaps one of my absolute favorites to date and designed by Luv Bridal. It is princessy without being over the top, and with her partial updo and sparkly hair pieces she looked positively stunning.
Even more memorable than all the details, though, were the words shared throughout the day. Angela and Drew wrote their own vows, and as they read them to each other with tears in their eyes their shared history was so clear. Their words to each other had so many of the same inside jokes, the same promises, and the same hopes for the future. I always love seeing how one couple can echo each other’s thoughts so effortlessly.
I also absolutely loved listening to all of the toasts made to the happy couple during the reception. Angela’s father made a moving speech sharing his love for his daughter and his welcoming of Drew into the family. Their friends shared stories of them all growing up together—stories only your high school best friend could tell. It was beautiful to see how close everyone was to each other after so much time, and how many shared experiences they could glean from throughout the years.
Having married my own high school sweetheart, there are so many elements of Angela and Drew’s love story I can personally connect with, which is probably why we connected so well with each other, too! It’s really something special to be able to grow up with your partner, and see each other’s growth through the years and through the stages, and still choose each other every day.
As Angela looked back on the day, she wanted to share these words with future brides everywhere:
“It’s about the love, little tiny details truly don’t matter. No one is going to remember the detail on the candle holders, or the giant arrangement of flowers. They are going to remember the way he/she looks at you. The energy in the room. They are going to remember the smiles, the laughter and the love! Try to tackle one project at a time, try not to do too much at one time. And although it’s overwhelming to plan—it’s sad when it’s over! I would do it all over 1 million more times to feel the love and energy of the day over and over!”
And that’s why we capture every detail of your wedding day, so that you can relive it over and over!
Here’s to Angela and Drew, their beautiful wedding day, and to finding the love of your life at fifteen.
