Lindsey and Joe are yet another online dating success story. They met while Lindsey was in dental hygiene school in the Tri Cities, Washington, and Joe was working in Goldendale. After that, for two years, they drove two hours each way every single weekend just to see each other. That is some true love and dedication, folks! It was clearly meant to be!
Their wedding was simple, but set within the stunning landscape of Cle Elum, Washington. Their sunset photos are some of my absolute favorites I have ever taken. The golden light was surreal, and the mountain backdrop. Woah. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
More important than anything to Lindsey and Joe was that they be surrounded by the people they love most on their wedding day. Their wedding party consisted entirely of family. Brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, and nephews alike joined Lindsey and Joe to celebrate their union, and I think that is just about the sweetest combination of people at an altar I’ve ever seen.
They all got ready at Lindsey’s grandparents’ cabin in Cle Elum, before heading to the wedding venue at Swauk Teanaway Grange for the rest of the festivities. This rustic venue sits on a hill seemingly in the middle of nowhere, overlooking the nearby mountain range. It was nice and cozy inside, kind of like another cabin. Absolutely fitting for a wedding that felt like one big, happy family reunion.
For such a simple and rustic vision, everyone looked fit for a magazine cover. The men wore navy suits and the women wore soft blue dresses. The flowers included peonies and hydrangea, with eucalyptus for some greenery. These colors popped beautifully against the eastern Washington landscape, and gave a beautiful, fresh vibe to the day. Most of the décor was rustic and DIY. Lindsey made all of the centerpieces, signage, and the invitations. They also had a giant jenga set for guests to sign at the entrance—both a yard game and a guest book.
Lindsey’s dad owns a gorgeous classic car, and was gracious enough to let them use it as their getaway car. This is an extra treat for someone like Joe, who is obsessed with cars and always seems to be working on one! We snuck out for some epic photos with the car and in a neighboring field at sunset, and saying that this was a dreamy sunset session is an understatement. The golden hour was absolutely ethereal, and I am 150% in love with every single image we grabbed in those brief moments before the sun disappeared below the horizon.
