My favorite kind of couple is one who can laugh and be silly together. Dana and Nick are one of those couples. They always seem to be smiling, and when they are with each other, those smiles turn to blissful grins. And then Nick makes a silly face, and Dana throws her head back and laughs, and Nick smirks like that was his plan all along.
You can see why Dana and Nick made a particularly perfect bride and groom.
They had a wedding fit for storybooks at Woodinville Lavender. Surrounded by lavender blossoms, sunshine, and a small gathering of their closest friends and family, they walked each other down the aisle and pledged their vows of forever. Dana couldn’t stop dabbing her eyes with a tissue, and when they finally had their first kiss they got so excited they danced their way back down the aisle.
You know how there is supposed to be that one wedding dress that is perfect for you? Like it was made just for you? Dana’s dress was made just for her. The delicate lace fit her body like a glove, with a gorgeous long train to add that level of bridal glamour fit for magazines. The dress dipped low on her back, showing off her scripted tattoo leading down her spine to the old-fashioned buttons clasped at the small of her back. Seriously, she looked like a movie star. Nick dressed to kill in a suit made in Thailand.
Lavender, or simply the color purple, was of course the theme of their day. Bundles of it adorned all of the signage and décor. Purple flowers highlighted the bouquets. You could smell it everywhere—that calming, fresh smell of heaven. Even Dana’s hair, a deep reddish-purple, fit with the color scheme. She even found a lipstick that perfectly matched her hair.
The whole day felt like a dream. And I just hope that now, every time they look at the photos from this day, they remember that feeling, and that they are still living a dream, together.
