Suntop Lookout Engagement Portraits | Michelle & Malcolm

Suntop Lookout Engagement Portraits | Michelle & Malcolm

Michelle and Malcolm are just about the cutest ever. As they plan their wedding for next spring, they are also in the midst of custom building their home in Tri Cities, Washington, where they also intend to have the wedding. Imagine, doing both at once! When you meet them, though, all you see is their attention on each other, their easy-going nature, their joy in having fun no matter what they are doing. You can tell within just a few minutes that these two people are best friends, and they belong together. Witnessing that type of connection is exactly why I fall in love with all of my engaged couples, but particularly these two. Their connection is undeniable in their photos.

The goal for Michelle and Malcolm’s engagement portraits was to feature Mount Rainier prominently in the background. Nothing says Washington Wedding more than some Mount Rainier engagement portraits, right? But as we made our way up the slope to Suntop Lookout, Rainier remained tucked away beneath a layer of clouds. If you know much about the area, you know that this particular peak can be somewhat elusive even on a nice day with perfect light otherwise, like this one. But luckily, as we were wrapping up, the clouds parted and we had a clear shot of the iconic Rainier, so in the end I can’t imagine a more perfect day to record Michelle & Malcolm’s engagement.

Michelle and Malcolm, thank you for showing me the beauty of Enumclaw and taking me on this little adventure up to Suntop Lookout. I am now dying to get back to this neck of the woods again, and to shoot your wedding next May!! Enjoy all of the planning—there will come a time when you’ll miss it ;)

xoxo
