You can tell when a photographer has gotten behind on blogging when they finally post about an engagement session for a couple who has already gotten married ;) Cris and Martin had a short but very sweet engagement. We headed to Rattlesnake Lake with their two furbabies in tow at the beginning of the fall to take their engagement portraits and it was the most beautiful sunny day.

The golden light shined down on us as we walked around the edge of this beautiful lake in North Bend, Washington. You could see the trees just starting to change, but the water was still crystal blue and the sun warm. Summer meeting fall. The sweetest change in seasons.

But what was really beautiful to observe was their intense connection. They easily laughed together and naturally held each other so close. I’m always telling my couples to get nice and close for the camera—“Pretend you like each other!”—but with Cris and Martin there was no need. I just stood back and let them be their cute selves and captured their love as-is, and there is nothing I love to do more than that.

This was one of my favorite engagement sessions to date, and as I finish up their wedding photos I just thank my lucky stars that I had the opportunity to meet such a sweet couple who let me capture some of their most cherished memories. Much love to you, Cris & Martin!
