Anya and David met in their hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, during a summer break from college. Their first date involved pizza and snow cones, and they hit it off so well that by the end of the summer, they knew they would probably get married someday. Unfortunately, with them going to colleges in separate states, that time would have to wait, as they maintained a long-distance relationship for years before both finally moving to the Seattle area together this year. Shout out to all you long-distance couples out there—it can be done! ;)
My favorite couples are the ones who just love to cuddle and be cute together because that means I hardly have to do anything to prompt great pictures—and Anya and David are tooootally one of those kinds of couples. We first wandered around Juanita Bay Park, basking in the sunlight of the day, before finishing up their portraits at the Kirkland Marina right as the sun was setting. And they giggled and kissed and snuggled the entire time. FAVES.
Kirkland is becoming one of my favorite places to shoot. It just has so much to offer, with beautiful park space, an adorable marina, and cute little downtown shops and eateries. I could shoot all my engagement sessions here without getting bored!
Anya and David are getting married back home in St. Louis next June, and I am so excited for them to be able to show off these portraits of them in their new home in the Pacific Northwest to all of their family and friends.
Anya and David—good luck with all the wedding planning, and if you ever want to talk more about how weird it is to be a transplant in the Seattle area, you know where to find me!
xoxo
