The Craftwood Inn is a super cute wedding venue tucked in the mountains of Manitou Springs, Colorado. It has a quaint and charming mountain aesthetic, with several cottages and the main two-story reception hall set right into the side of a hill. They offer their couples a full-service experience, with beautiful florals, a DJ, and extraordinary catering.
Like most places around Manitou, it is a small venue, but with a rustic charm that makes you feel like you’re somewhere far more remote than you are. Gardens and a waterfall are scattered throughout the cottages, making for beautiful, tucked-away spots for a bride and groom’s first look and portraits. And there is a spot on the property where you can stand on iconic Colorado red rocks and get the perfect view of Pikes Peak and the surrounding mountains. No need to travel anywhere for the most gorgeous wedding couple photos at sunset.
Ashley and Chris’s wedding day at the Craftwood Inn was just as special as the venue itself. They had their private first look at an iconic wrought iron and wooden gate to the venue’s gardens. This moment was so important to them so that they could have the chance to see each other privately and experience all the emotions of the day away from prying eyes. We then wandered the gardens taking their couple’s portraits and getting together with the wedding party in the front lawn, before we all got ready for the ceremony on the terrace in front of the waterfall. Ashley and her father walked down the stairs alongside the waterfall as their grand entrance to the ceremony–you don’t see that every day! After their sweet vows, the couple enjoyed their own cocktail hour with their guests before sitting inside for dinner. (This is another huge benefit of having a first look!) Oh, and P.S. the food here is amaaaaazinggg!!!
True to Colorado fashion, the weather was unpredictable for us this day. We actually took Ashley and Chris out to the spot in the rocks overlooking Pike’s Peak two separate times because thunderstorms were blowing in and out of the area. It was so nice that we could do this so easily because the spot is so close to the reception area of the venue. Luckily these two trusted their photographers to capture the beauty of this spot both times–and we got two very different looks with just a few minutes spent each time!
This was such a lovely wedding, and the classic details on point. Ashley and Chris were full of hugs and giggles and absolutely beautiful in front of the camera.
