When I met Carolina and Steven, they warned me, “We’re a goofy couple. We do silly things.”

“That suits me just fine,” I said.

They were kidding around, but I truly love it when I can just sit back and let couples be themselves and have fun together in front of the camera. A natural and authentic, almost-but-not-quite-laughing smile is worth way more to me than any other posed look you can plaster to your face. Lit-up eyes and uncontained grins are what I live for. Well, those and romantic kisses. And this engagement session with Carolina and Steven was chalk full of both. I could hardly contain myself. THE CUTENESS.

Carolina and Steven had just one major request for their engagement session: lots of flowers and color. Well, no problems there! Spring in Washington presents the most varied and beautiful blooms I have ever seen. I suggested we go to the Ballard Locks and wander among the flowers there, and they did not disappoint. I’m going to be so sad when all of the blossoms of spring are gone!

These two are having their courthouse wedding this month, and I am so excited for them! Wishing them a lifetime of giggles and kisses together.
