Erin and Jeremy’s adventurous Garden of the Gods engagement pictures are sure to give you total weather envy.
These two sweethearts traveled to Colorado from Florida and had to capture the natural beauty of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains for their engagement pictures. They’re one of those couples who have kind of been all over the place. Erin is from Oklahoma, while Jeremy is from Colorado Springs. They met and fell in love at Oklahoma State University, and recently moved to Florida for Erin to work her dream job with Disney. (So cool, right?!) So, their wedding plans are a little up in the air.
One thing was for sure though: they wanted a beautiful natural backdrop for their engagement pictures. So what better place than Colorado Springs? I knew Garden of the Gods would be the perfect location. I just love having all the things at my disposal: red rocks, tall green grass, mountain views, and just that overall feeling that you’re witnessing someplace truly special.
As we wandered some of my favorite spots within the park, it was clear that a storm was brewing overhead. We could see lightning in the distance and the claps of thunder were growing louder and louder as the wind picked up until finally, a downpour. I assured them these Colorado summer thunderstorms never tend to last, so we waited it out and were rewarded with one of my absolute favorite sunsets of my career.
As the rain drizzled on, the sun came back out just before it dipped behind Pike’s Peak and we were showered with both rain drops and golden light. It was absolutely ethereal. Not only that, but we were also graced with a double rainbow.
There was no way that we could have planned for this weather, and that made these photos that much more special. I’m so thankful to Erin and Jeremy for trusting me and seeing through the storm. I may never see the world looking like this again, and I’m just so thrilled we captured it. Sometimes you’ve gotta be a little adventurous and willing to weather a storm to see the best displays the earth has to offer. Colorado really showed off for these two!
