New Mexico Elopement Itinerary

Ashley and Zack fell in love with New Mexico on a random vacation here a few years back, so much so that they decided to come all the way from Pittsburgh to elope here. They planned an ideal New Mexico winter getaway: staying at Los Poblanos in Los Ranchos, taking a day trip to White Sands National Park for some adventure photos, elopement ceremony and sunset photos at Sandia Crest, followed by a couple of days soaking in the hot springs at Ojo Caliente. With absolutely beautiful weather, they had the perfect Sandia Crest winter elopement and week of adventure!

Trailhead Ceremony

Wanting to keep things very small, Ashley and Zack invited only their parents to join them for their New Mexico elopement. We all met at the top of one of my favorite trailheads in the Sandia Mountains for their private ceremony overlooking the east side of the mountains. Despite the chill in the air, their vows were full of warmth and love. My favorite moment was when they passed the rings around for everyone to hold and pass on their best wishes for the newlyweds.

Sandia Crest Sunset Photos

After a respite in our cars to warm back up, we headed further up the mountain to take in the sunset views from the very top. Everyone was stunned at the view and happy that we could rally through the winter chill to take it all in.

Honestly, sunset photos at Sandia Crest never get old. It is unique and gorgeous every single time. Ashley wore her white fur coat to keep herself (and Zack’s head!) warm but also took it off for a few photos so that we could get the full glory of her wedding dress blowing in the wind. These two were so cute and so full of joy at every step of the way.
