Rattlesnake Lake Family Portraits | Amaris & Ryan

Rattlesnake Lake Family Portraits | Amaris & Ryan

Over Thanksgiving weekend, I had a little impromptu photo session with another local photographer, Amaris, and her husband Ryan. I know, isn’t that funny? As soon as the two hubbies got over introducing themselves and simultaneously stating their same names at the same time, we got to work while this beautiful light lasted. (Because nowadays, it’s gone by 4 o’clock!) I couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have a full long weekend of gorgeous sunny days, but no complaints here! I could eat up that golden light.

You can’t even tell how cold it is, can you? The warm light and colorful plaid looks can be deceiving ;) As we walked around Rattlesnake Lake we swapped off being photographer and subject, taking off our jackets in front of the camera but putting them right back on when it was our turn to shoot! It was a good system.

Amaris and Ryan also brought along their two adorable fur babies. You’ve gotta be careful doing that around me, because puppies can easily steal the show! Their family is so sweet, and it was a privilege to be able to capture their Christmas card photos for this year.

^^ I told you they were cute! Both the people and the puppies, of course.

In all seriousness, I’m so thankful for the opportunity to meet other Seattle-area photographers. This is a great photography community here that I’m excited to be a part of.

And the photos Amaris took of Ryan and me? I’m thankful for those, too. We haven’t been in front of a professional photographer together since our wedding, and I’m certainly more used to being on the other side of the camera, so it was fun getting some new photos done again. Win-win-win!

I hope you all had an equally wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and are getting prepped for the rest of this fast season! It’s not too late yet to get your own Christmas cards done!
