Kim and Marcus are big fans of color. You might remember their engagement session at Gas Works Park that involved throwing paint powder into each other’s faces. That was just a small taste of what was to come for their wedding day.
They wanted a peacock-themed wedding, and they fully embraced it. Peacock feathers were added to the bouquets and centerpieces. Blues, purples, and greens splashed against the otherwise white flowers and décor. The bridesmaids wore an assortment of peacock-colored dresses with matching converse, and the groomsmen’s vests matched along with the bridesmaids. Guest’s place cards featured intricately cut peacock shapes. The stunning, multiple-tiered white wedding cake was topped with two adorable peacock figures. Every single detail was thought out and matched perfectly.
But of course, the best part of every wedding day is the love story, and the people gathered there to celebrate it. My favorite part of capturing weddings is seeing all of the sweet, candid moments that take place. Like Kim and Marcus’s daughter Athena crashing the ceremony and joining her parents at the altar as they said their vows. Or a bunch of bridesmaids and groomsmen in bright colors dancing up and down the aisle. Or Kim dancing with her grandparents together.
They married at the Harborside Fountain Park in Bremerton, right beside the water. After a bright and beautiful ceremony, the party got started at the Kitsap Conference Center, with beautiful views overlooking the Bremerton Harborside. Right around sunset, we did what I love to do and escaped from the hype of the party to grab some stunning bride and groom portraits around the harbor.
We finished the night with a sparkler send-off for the newlyweds. The perfect, fiery ending to a loud, colorful, wonderful day. Congratulations to the happy peacocks!
