Pastures of Plenty is such a sweet farm wedding venue tucked within Boulder County. This working farm features widespread crops and fields of flowers with views of the surrounding mountains. The owners have been doing farm-to-table catering before the phrase even existed. This basically means that not only do you get beautiful sweeping mountain views, you also get AMAZING food.

Anna and Phoebe’s Pastures of Plenty wedding was absolutely one for the books.

Getting Ready

They started the day getting ready together in the bridal cottage. Once it came time to slip on their wedding dresses, they went into two separate rooms, wanting to save their first look at each other for outside under the trees.

That moment was worth the effort. Their first look took place on a bridge under a canopy of trees just by the creek, surrounded by twinkle lights. Phoebe wore a sleek white gown with a slit down the leg and a veil with a crown-like headpiece, for a classy fashion statement. Anna wore a white lace bodysuit with a flowy green skirt, to complete a total garden fairy goddess look. The VIBES these two had together.

The Ceremony

Anna and Phoebe ditched a lot of “traditions” for their wedding and opted instead for something that felt a little more natural to them. They entered their ceremony together, arm in arm, following a trail of flower children–both boys and girls.

A close friend officiated, talented friends and family performed the music, and while they didn’t have a traditional wedding party, with the matching dresses and everyone standing up at the altar, we did take some time for them to get portraits with their closest friends who were all present.

The Details

I cannot say enough about how lovely the details were at Anna and Phoebe’s wedding at Pastures of Plenty. The theme felt like an enchanted garden. All of the florals were locally sourced and uniquely displayed–pressed flowers for the cake, minimalist Japanese ikebana-styled centerpieces, and wildflowers to decorate the ceremony arch and the bridge over the creek.

Also, the guest favors were hand-crafted bars of soap that smelled just as flowery and heavenly as the rest of the wedding felt.

The Reception

The music was a top priority for Anna and Phoebe in planning their wedding. They hired one of the most amazing live wedding bands I’ve ever witnessed: Tunisia. They sang covers of all the big hits (and the lesser-known ones) and were so versatile in sound. The dance floor was truly never empty. If you’re looking for something different to uplevel your reception, well, the energy is just different with a live band.

The Couple

Anna and Phoebe are clearly a power couple with creativity, and not to mention two of the sweetest people you could ever meet. The toasts to the two of them were so warm and heartfelt. I learned about how Anna could randomly decide to fly across the world and do a through-hike, and Phoebe could not help but take care of people. I wanted to make sure we got portraits of the two of them that perfectly captured who they are and the beauty of the area surrounding us. So, we wandered out into the fields and braved the summer storm blowing through for some totally whimsical and dramatic couple’s portraits. Success!
