Gal and Michael had the most moving Lone Hawk Farm wedding celebration in Longmont, Colorado, surrounded by family and friends. Lone Hawk Farm is such a sweetly quaint and utterly beautiful wedding venue. Everything felt like a classy garden party. Beautiful wooden tables were arranged in a courtyard underneath hanging twinkle lights. Each held antique-looking vases of various garden flowers, and each guest had a tiny potted succulent at their place setting.
But Gal and Michael didn’t worry much about things like the timeline, or any classic ceremony “traditions,” instead putting all their focus on enjoying every single moment of their day, and being 100% true to themselves. Within just a few minutes of the day beginning, I could tell these two were the real deal, and I could not help but admire their capacity for taking the time to breathe and soak in the present.
They met on Tinder, of all places. Luck was on their side when they both swiped right and took the chance on each other to go on a first date. On the surface, it didn’t seem like they would have much in common. Michael is an outdoorsy kind of guy—a real “mountain man” as someone referred to him during their ceremony—while Gal is, well, not quite that. But when you see them together, you just get it. Over and over, throughout the ceremony and during the toasts at the reception, family and friends referred to Michael and Gal both as sunshine souls. They each have this light in them. This warmth. And they bring out the light and warmth in each other.
They had their first look on a picturesque little foot bridge leading to a wide open field. It felt symbolic for them crossing into this new chapter of their lives together. As they took each other in during those first few private moments together on their wedding day, I could not help but smile. They held hands and looked deeply into each other’s eyes; they closed their eyes and pressed their heads together; they swayed together. They were so perfect, without even trying.
This focus on the moments, and the people they shared them with, was truly the theme of the day. While they did not have a traditional wedding party, they did have several friends speak blessings to them during their spiritual ceremony. After they said their vows, they did not have a traditional walk back up the aisle together, but held back at the altar and let everyone come to them for a hug and a congratulations. They took the time to wander around to everyone during dinner, clearly wishing for more hours in the day to be able to give everyone the time they deserved.
I have never met anyone else so present in the moment.
These two sunshine souls were destined to find each other.
