If you are a fan of all things fall, you are going to have serious envy of Ashleigh and Jose’s fall-themed wedding at Filigree Farm. They could not have timed their day with the changing leaves more perfectly. All around the farm, the trees were lit up in bright colors—the brightest of which stood just behind the altar.
When you live in the Pacific Northwest, you know you are taking a certain risk with wanting an outdoor ceremony in the fall. But Ashleigh had a vision, and even though the day was stormy and wet, the skies parted just long enough for them to get their dream ceremony among all the colors of the season.
Pumpkins and colorful leaves lined the aisle of their outdoor ceremony. Bouquets of sunflowers and bright red leaves lined the table. Their entire cake looked like a pile of real pumpkins—all of it completely edible and delicious. Ashleigh told me on our first meeting that she just adored everything about fall, and her attention to detail in her wedding décor could not have made this more clear.
But the celebration of fall was not even the best part of Ashleigh and Jose’s day. No, of course the real celebration was of their love itself, and I have never heard such poetic declarations as these two made during their wedding vows. While Ashleigh is a true writer and poet, Jose’s words were a beautiful match to hers. They have a tradition of exchanging vows to each other in each new special place they visit, so they’ve had some practice. And isn’t that the sweetest tradition you’ve ever heard of?
I cannot think of two people more suited for each other than Ashleigh and Jose. Their love is one for storybooks, and their dedication to each other one to aspire to every day.
