Snoqualmie Washington Engagement Portraits | Kristen & Brad

Kristen and Brad live with their two dogs and one horse in the North Bend area and wanted more than anything to be able to include their whole furry family with them for some of their engagement portraits. We ended up congregating at Snoqualmie Point Park and heading in with the whole crew to start off. Though it can be a challenge to include pets in portraits I absolutely love doing it, and I love when my clients want to involve their four-legged family! This is when you see me making strange noises and holding smelly treats from behind the camera to get the furry subjects to look at me, and it usually provides some laughs from the humans too ;)

When we were through with the whole fam we made our way just the three of us around the rest of the park. There were some strong winds but we just worked with them like a giant model fan and warmed up in our cars later. I pretty much just put them where I thought was pretty and let them be their sweet, cuddly selves together (my favorite way to photograph!) and got some of my most favorite romantic shots of the season. I love the light at sunrise at this park. It has everything you could want—the trees, the mountains, the sun pouring in. Combined with the happy couple whispering sweet nothings, trying to make each other laugh and forget the cold, it was just perfect. I’d been craving a quintessentially fall portrait session and I must say I think this is it. Excuse me while I go swoon.

Kristen and Brad are planning an October wedding for next year at a riding center in Ellensburg, and I’m so happy that their engagement photos so perfectly reflect the tone I foresee for them on their wedding day. Fall leaves in the backcountry? Check. Love for animals? Check. Connection between the couple? Check. Congratulations to you, Kristen and Brad! I can’t wait for your big day next year!
