Rattlesnake Lake Elopement Inspiration

Rattlesnake Lake Elopement Inspiration

Ever since I first hiked to Rattlesnake Ledge with my husband in the first few months we lived in Washington, I have been enthralled with the Cascades and their surreal views. Rattlesnake Lake and Rattlesnake Ledge, in particular, combined create one of the most unique landscapes you’ll find anywhere. I’ve ended up taking many clients to the same spot for its picturesque tree trunks around the lake bed and its quintessential Pacific Northwest views. I have been itching for some time, though, to shoot a bridal couple at my favorite location.

I wanted to put together a shoot that embodied my vision of the ultimate adventurous couple, willing to scale a mountain for epic shots in front of a vast landscape. The bride’s dress blowing in the wind. Ribbons cascading from her bouquet dancing out to the side. Bride and groom looking at each other like they are the only two people in the world.

While this particular couple was already married for these photos, their story will make your heart swell. When I approached Brittani, the bride, with my idea for an elopement shoot, she let me know that she and her husband actually eloped a couple of years ago and never had real professional photos taken on their wedding day. Now, with his impending deployment with the Navy at the end of the month, they were eager to have the chance to recreate their elopement. Chance wore his Navy dress blues, as he did the day they married, and Brittani wore a romantic two-piece wedding dress fit for a princess. Her pink and navy bouquet matched them perfectly. Their images are just as sweet, romantic, and adventurous as I could have ever hoped for.

Everyone deserves an epic photo shoot somewhere awesome, whether it’s for a wedding, an anniversary, an engagement, a maternity session or family session, or just your own bad self. I hope these images inspire those adventurous hearts to get out there, live, and create something new and amazing to hang on your mantle.
